Creating a free Hong Kong Apple ID gives you permanent access to BIM VPN and thousands of other apps not available in China. This is the recommended method.

  1. Open appleid.apple.com in Safari on your iPhone (or any browser).
  2. Tap Create Your Apple ID. Enter your name, email, and a strong password.
  3. When asked for country/region, select Hong Kong.
  4. For payment method, select None.
  5. Verify your email and phone number. Your HK Apple ID is ready.
  6. On your iPhone, go to Settings > [Your Name] > Media & Purchases, tap Sign Out, then sign in with your new HK Apple ID.
  7. Open the App Store and search for BIM VPN. Download and install.

You can switch your existing Apple ID's region to Hong Kong. Note: this will affect your existing App Store purchases and subscriptions.

  1. Go to Settings > [Your Name] on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Media & Purchases, then View Account.
  3. Tap Country/Region, then Change Country or Region.
  4. Select Hong Kong. Choose None for payment.
  5. Agree to the terms. Your App Store is now in HK region.
  6. Search for BIM VPN and download it.

Occasional disconnections can happen due to network conditions, especially during peak hours or high-sensitivity periods in China. Try these steps:

  1. Switch to a different server location (try HK or SG first).
  2. Toggle airplane mode on and off to reset your network connection.
  3. Make sure BIM VPN has permission to run in the background (Settings > BIM VPN > Background App Refresh: ON).
  4. Check that you're on the latest version of the app.
